I love visiting the ocean and soaking up all the positive ions. It’s so soothing and healing – so good for relieving and managing stress. Here’s a view of the elephant seals on a stunningly beautiful day on a recent visit to San Simeon, California.
How to Manage & Relieve Stress with Guided Meditation
Happy Sunday! I mostly took a break from my YouTube channel for awhile. I spent thousands of hours studying some cool things around meditation, self-mastery, the Law of Attraction and conscious creation while helping my family in the Midwest.
I’m excited to announce I’m back in California and will be shooting more videos to share what I’ve learned! Below is a new video about how to manage and reduce stress with a guided meditation and some background about how meditation has helped me working in television and during the dot-com bust in Silicon Valley.
This guided meditation is a great tool to use at the start of your day or midday to help you get back into alignment during your work day or while managing a family. 👩🏻💻👨🏻💻👨👩👧
Take a short time-out to pull your hair out less 😬 and get back into the flow and feel happier and more at ease. 🧘🏻♀️
I hope you find this helpful. Let me know if you have any questions or would like help incorporating meditation into your life. ❤️
Relaxing Non-Screentime Over the Holidays (Fox 2 News St. Louis)
Internet Addiction Disorder really is a thing. Everyone’s brains can use a break from these fabulous smart devices that help us with so many things so today on Fox 2 News in St. Louis with Dan Gray I talked about some fun ways to get back to the basics and allow our brains to rest.
Below is the video and more details on what I shared…
Arts & Crafts
Goodies from Stampin Up for making holiday cards and tags (available from Stampin Up demonstrators and at stampinup.com)
At-Home Spa & Beauty Rituals
Local, natural, conscious beauty company Blissoma (available at the Blissoma boutique and at blissoma.com).
Local, natural handcrafted skin care for men from Face & Junk (available at faceandjunk.com).
Budget-friendly stocking stuffers from Biore’ – ideal for younger people with oily skin (available at many major retailers and at biore.com).
Have fun with it – whatever it is!
So here I am in the Midwest. We appear to have gone straight from a blazingly hot summer to winter with a full-on snowmageddon pre-Thanksgiving with about five days of proper fall days in between. Noooooooo! I love fall! Bring back fall!!
Well, apparently fall is not coming back. At least that’s what a whole lot of people have been telling me. And denial is not just a river in Egypt so I still dream of fall and wonder why the skies are all gray and it’s 25 degrees out.
This is seriously not my favorite weather. I’ve heard friends talk about how depressed they’ve been feeling, how they don’t feel like getting out of bed or going outside.
I get it. Seasonal affective disorder is totally a thing. I won an award reporting about it at KPLR11 news when I first started out as a news reporter; and I covet my light box. ☀️ 😂
So here’s the thing though. Regardless of the weather or whatever less-than-favorite or downright heartbreaking thing has happened, we can still keep choosing to feel happy and have more fun.
This doesn’t mean you won’t ever feel sad and you ought to stuff down feelings of sorrow – cuz that doesn’t work (those feelings will find their way back up like energy building in a volcano 🌋). Just the other day I was all waterworks when I laid flowers on the grave of my kitty cat who passed in the spring. I didn’t push down the tears. I let them come and go like a flash rainshower in Florida on a hot summer day.
It wasn’t long after that I was laughing about something – probably about the kitten I adopted recently who chewed through a bag of food (apparently I need to store his food in a bear box).
My point is we can keep choosing happiness each and every day throughout the day no matter what the circumstances are. And the cool thing is that we are like magnets so the more we feel happy, the more we attract things we enjoy.
This is a checkmate move as author and teacher Michael Singer describes it (author of The Surrender Experiment and Untethered Soul). As he said in a talk, the best poker players don’t get all the best cards, they make the best of the cards they are dealt.
He said that if you have bipolar disorder, have fun with it. See how high you can go one day and how low you can go the next day. If someone is driving ten miles under the speed limit, challenge them to drive 20 miles under.
So whether you love the cards in your hand right now or they are the stinkiest cards in the deck, you get to choose. Have fun with whatever cards are in your hand right now!
Bypass waiting for circumstances to be a certain way or waiting for the best hand in the Game of Life. Cheat and move yourself to happy now.
This doesn’t mean that you will never feel heartache or sorrow again, because honestly if you love someone or something with all your heart, chances are good you will feel disappointed when they’re gone.
Going Straight to Happy
It’s also possible to have more fun. Here are some simple ways to shift your mind and go straight to happy:
- Ask yourself, “How can I have fun with this?“
- Ask yourself, “What are three things I can appreciate in my life right now?“
- Play a What I Like Game – Ask yourself, “What do I like about what’s around me now?” (e.g., I like the color of that wall. I like the sound of the water fountain. I like that I have two legs to walk on. I like that I have plenty to eat. I like that I’m inside on this 25 degree day, etc.)
- If you’re feeling a lot of intense emotions, just STOP and FEEL. Observe the emotions like a storm that’s passing through. Let them come. And let them go.
- If you’re rehashing something that happened in your head or talking about it with a friend and feeling upset, STOP. Just because someone did something this morning or yesterday that you absolutely hated, it doesn’t mean you have to invite them to have breakfast with you now in your head. You can simply come back to this moment right now and play the What I Like Game.
And then who’s the winner in the Game of Life? Winner winner chicken dinner, you are! 🐓😀
Tips to Look & Feel Good During the Busy Holidays and Gray Weather (Fox 2 News)
Winter is coming! And the busy holiday season! Are you feeling a bit of anxiety? Today on Fox 2 News I talked with Dan Gray about some simple ways to look and feel great as we move into the end of 2018, including my new end of year one-on-one coaching program. See video of the interview and more details below…
Take time out for yourself with some nourishing, clean ingredient skin care that will help banish the damage that may have been done to your skin over the summer with the new Arbonne RE9 Advanced Brightening Collection.
This collection was developed to address the specific needs of dull, sallow, uneven skin tone and dark spots. The vegan products are infused with clean brightening ingredients. When used twice a day consistently:
- improve the appearance of skin glow, radiance, luminosity, and skin tone
- minimize the look of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles with twice-daily consistent use.
Six high-performing products make up the collection, including
- a cleansing foam
- lightweight serum
- SPF 15 mineral sunscreen
- night cream
- and eye cream
Featuring a proprietary Sakura Bright Complex, created with ascorbyl glucoside, a form of stabilized vitamin C, cherry blossom extract and birch leaf extract. Botanical-based emulsifiers, surfactants and moisturizers also support the delicate skin barrier by increasing hydration (available at arbonne.com).
Curb Holiday Cravings & Weight Gain
I also recommended the Ariix Slenderiiz system with the homeopathic Slenderiix and Xceler8 drops to help curb holiday overeating and weight gain. These make it so much easier to be mindful and exercise self-control when facing a big holiday spread or all those holiday treats that pour into offices this time of year.
Slenderiix is a homeopathic formula designed to assist in the specific release of visceral fat and subcutaneous fat, fatty deposits located under the surface of the skin within the body. As a hormone-free and pharmacopeia approved product, Slenderiix aids in reducing these fat stores simultaneously, resulting in weight loss at 2X the rate of just a calorie reduction program.
Xceler8 is a patented combination of methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), biotin (vitamin H) and a blend of adaptogenic herbs. With the proper ratios, this composite increases metabolic rate, enhances energy levels, and stabilizes mood.
Based on scientific evidence, this unique combination of homeopathic remedies, when coupled with vitamin B12 drops, controls appetite and increases metabolic rate, which is the amount of energy the body uses in a certain time period. When the metabolic rate increases, the amount of calories that the body burns for energy also increases (available at ariix.com).
